I

Creator and victim

What is a creator and what is a victim? How do you determine if you are one or the other? Are there ways you change from a victim to a creator? All of these questions will be answered throughout this paper.

In Mirman’s blog post (Mirman –do you think like a creator or victim) he gave an example of a creator and a victim in a scenario. He described how the creator made it her mission to find the book she needed for class. He also described how the victim stopped looking for the book when school bookstore said they didn’t have the book in stock. He said that a victim would go no further to achieve something and when he or she did not achieve this goal he or she would blame others for their misfortune. Lastly in the post Mirman challenged his readers to who consider themselves victims and to changed attitude more to a creator one.

I could think of many times when I played the victim role in a situation. One could be the many times  in high school when I never turned in an assignment for my class and blamed the teacher for not giving me enough time to complete it when I had more than enough time to complete the assignment and turn it in. Also another time when I played the victim role was when I was supposed to get my little brother off the bus on time after school but instead went to go hang out with a group of friends. So when my mother ask me why my little brother had to wait outside the house till she got home my reply was, he is old enough get off the bus and walk to our house by his self.

I believe my mother has the creator mindset. My mother is a very outspoken women she knows what she want and she will do anything to get it. She gets up day in and day out to go work three jobs to support her family. She has a PHD in three areas of study. My mother is an amazing women who is all way reaching to new heights.

The main thing for me to gain a better creator mindset is to stop my procrastination. I have to start doing assignments and getting them turned in on time. That was really my main problem in high school I was being lazy and not turning in assignments that where due, and my grade suffered for that.
